UPDATE: For the latest information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, please have a look at this page: https://ico.ku.edu.tr/news/covid-19-entry-to-campus-measures-vaccinations/
Dear KU International Community Members,

We hope that you and your beloved ones are doing well.

This announcement is to inform you that, from now on, the COVID-19 vaccines are available for foreigners who have residence permits in Türkiye.

The Turkish Ministry of Health has already determined the order of groups for Turkish citizens to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been administered to these groups in the order of priority accordingly. From now on, the residence permit holders are eligible for the vaccination as Turkish citizens, according to the order of priority listed here.

There are several ways to check your vaccination status and book an appointment if you are eligible.

Below you can find the related platforms:

1. To check status: SMS

You can check your vaccination status by sending an SMS to 2023 in the following format:

ASI [blank] FOREIGNER ID NUMBER THAT STARTS WITH 99 [blank] THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF RESIDENCE PERMIT CARD SERIAL NUMBER

If the response reads “COVID-19 aşılaması için öncelikli grupta değilsiniz,” it means that your group is not prioritized at the moment. You can keep checking your group status.

If you are eligible, you should proceed with booking an appointment.

2. To check status and book an appointment: e-Nabiz (Either mobile app or website):

You can log into e-Nabiz through e-Devlet (e-Government). To learn more about e-Devlet, please click here. You can use e-Nabiz in English. To learn more about it, please click here.

3. To book an appointment: MHRS (Central Physician Appointment System)

Available both as a mobile app and website. You can log into the system through your e-Devlet credentials, or you can register as a new member. For FAQs about MHRS, please click here.

4. To book an appointment: 182 Appointment Line. The line is in Turkish so you might need a Turkish speaker.

5. To check your status and receive the vaccination without an appointment: You can visit any vaccination spot with your foreigner ID number that starts with 99 and is written on your residence permit card, or a temporary ID number provided by the Registrar’s Office that starts with 98.

Important:

If you are a student and have not received your residence permit card yet, you can email the Registrar’s Office to learn your temporary ID number that starts with 98. Please do not visit the Registrar’s Office for this matter. They do prefer emails.

Since it takes time for the Health Ministry to register those temporary ID numbers to their system, you might not book a vaccination appointment soon. Therefore, please keep checking up on your eligibility. You can also visit any COVID-19 Vaccination Spot (For instance, next to İstinye State Hospital) to have health personnel check your eligibility. In this case, the health personnel might need to see a document stating your 98 number with your headshot. Therefore, if you will visit a vaccination spot, please request a Student Enrollment Certificate from the Registrar’s Office asking them to include your 98 number. It will be ready the next day of your request. While visiting the Registrar’s Office to collect your Student Enrollment Certificate, you should bring a copy of your headshot so that they can attach it to your certificate officially. You can then show it to the health personnel.

Those students below 18 should be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination with their 98 numbers as well. Therefore, the second article applies to them. However, it is obligatory for those students to have one of their parents with them to be able to get vaccinated. Please note that we have also contacted the Sarıyer District Health Directorate in order to accelerate this process. You can keep checking up on your eligibility and then receive vaccination in any vaccination spot without an appointment with one of your parents.
