You and your friends are invited to join us for a day filled with exciting games, delicious picnic food, and stunning views of the forest. Whether you’re a fan of pantomime, cards, volleyball, badminton, or frisbee, there’s something for everyone. So pack your bags, grab your sports equipment, and get ready for a day of adventure and relaxation in the great outdoors. See you there!

Belgrad Ormanı, also known as Belgrad Forest in English, is a combination of deciduous trees situated next to Istanbul, Türkiye. The forest is named after the nearby village which was inhabited by a large number of Serbs who were relocated to the Ottoman capital from the city of Belgrade in 1521 after it was conquered. Geographically, the forest is positioned at the farthest eastern point of the Thracian Peninsula, with its terrain spanning across the Sarıyer and Eyüp districts. Within the forest, several ancient reservoirs can also be found, adding to its historical significance.
Dining & Refreshments: A common activity for locals and visitors in Istanbul is visiting Belgrad Forest during the weekends, particularly in the spring and summer months when the weather gets hot. The forest provides designated recreational spaces for people to unwind, and visitors are permitted to use portable barbecues to cook and enjoy with their loved ones. The forest features seven primary picnic areas, with Büyük Bent being the most sought-after spot. This location comes equipped with its own cafe, offering visitors the opportunity to cook their own meals on the long wooden tables provided. In addition, drinks and snacks can be purchased on-site. While a few other cafes are scattered throughout the forest, some areas may resemble a metropolitan environment, but the majority of the forest remains a natural wildlife sanctuary.

8:30 AM: Meeting at the West Campus Bus Stop to go to Hacıosman Bus Stop
9:00 AM: Meeting at the Hacıosman Bus Stop to Head to the Belgrad Forest
6:00 PM: Wrapping up and leaving the forest

Do I have to pay for anything?
Participants have to pay for their expenses, including transportation, food & beverages they purchase before and during the event.
We want to make sure everyone has a great time at the picnic, so be sure to bring your favorite snacks, meals, and beverages to share with everyone. Let’s also be mindful of each other’s food preferences and allergies when trying new things. Can’t wait to see what delicious treats everyone brings to the picnic in the beautiful Belgrad forest!
It would be highly recommended to carry some cash and water with you.
