Work Permit Exemption
ICO attends to the legal obligations of each international researcher/intern in collaboration with respective program and administrative offices from the moment of acceptance and official enrollment. Our website contains all useful information needed for a proper application process for all applicants.
- If you are going to be a researcher or intern at KU, your supervisor should contact the Office of Vice President for Research and Development (VPRD) (Ms. Elif Tüysüz, etuysuz@ku.edu.tr) and get an approval.
- If you are going to be an Erasmus+ intern at KU, your supervisor should contact the Office of International Programs, Incoming Exchange team (incoming@ku.edu.tr) and get an approval.
After approval of your status at KU, your supervisor should inform us about the details of your stay through the ICO Trackit to start your work permit exemption application process before you arrive. For us to fill out your application, after your supervisor approval is sent to us and within the first month of your arrival, please contact us through the ICO Trackit with the Required Documents below and our specialist will start the application process.
Important Information
- An application can only be made within the first month after entering Türkiye. It is not possible to apply outside of the country.
- In order to make an application, you need to enter Türkiye with your original passport. No other entry document is acceptable for residence permit applications.
- Applicants’ passports must be valid at least 60 days beyond the requested ending date of work permit exemption.
- The applicants must be present in Türkiye at the time of application and evaluation. Departing from Türkiye before your application is evaluated results in the rejection of your application.
