The online residence permit application must be submitted before the expiration date of a visa (regular or electronic) or permission to stay without a visa.  Applicants must enter Türkiye with a passport to be able to apply for a residence permit. Those who entered Türkiye with national IDs can not apply for a residence permit.

The student residence permit (SRP) application process normally consists of 3 main stages:

1- Collecting the required documents,

2- Completing the online application form before the end of visa/visa exemption/residence permit expiry,

3- Getting fingerprints scanned by the Migration Office, 

4- Submitting application documents to the ICO.
