Spring ’24 KU Guides Event #9| Picnic in Nişantaşı’s Maçka Democracy Park

This Saturday, join our KU Guide, Gülce, for a picnic at Maçka Democracy Park.

We will gather at one of the most central locations in Istanbul to enjoy the lush greenery and each other’s company. The park provides the perfect setting to unwind, relax, and catch up with friends. You can also look forward to playing games like cards and board games. We hope to see you there!

What is awaiting you?

At this event, we are going to have a picnic in Maçka Democracy Park. Participants may bring food and beverages with them or purchase them before entering the park. They are also encouraged to bring or introduce any type of game to play during the picnic.

Please be mindful of your food intolerances and carefully consider shared foods to ensure your safety. Remember to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and take good care of yourself throughout the event. It is solely your responsibility to manage your health and well-being. The university and the ICO do not assume any responsibility.

Event Plan

11:15 AM: Meeting at the West Campus Bus Stop
11:30 AM: Taking the bus to Hacıosman Metro (150/154/Minibus)
12 PM: Meeting at Hacıosman Bus Stop (taking the M2 line to Osmanbey)
1 PM – 1:15 PM: Walking from Osmanbey to Maçka Democracy Park
1:15 PM – 1:30 PM: Stopping at the Macro Center near the park to buy food and beverages for the picnic
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Setting up the picnic area and eating
2:30 PM – 4 PM: Depending on the group’s interest, playing cards or board games
End of the day

Where and when to meet the KU Guides and the group?

  • West Campus Bus Stop (Sarıyer Evleri) at 11:15 AM
  • Hacıosman Bus Stop at 12 PM

Do I have to pay for anything?

Participants have to pay for their own expenses, including transportation, food, and beverages. It is recommended to carry some cash (around 100 ₺) in case we take a minibus as public transport. Don’t forget your Istanbulkart (public transport card).

Please note the following important safety information:

  • Be cautious when sharing and consuming food; ensure you are aware of any food intolerances or allergies.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day.
  • Take good care of your personal belongings and be mindful of your surroundings.
  • Remember that your health and well-being are your responsibility. The university and the ICO do not assume any liability for any incidents or injuries that may occur during the event.
