Step back in time and immerse yourself in the rich history of Yoros Castle, a captivating fortress that has stood the test of time since the Eastern Roman period. Nestled in the quaint village of Anadolu Kavağı, situated at the point where the Black Sea meets the Bosphorus Strait on the Asian side of Istanbul, this site has been a battleground for Byzantines, Genoese, and Ottomans over the centuries. Though the citadel may lie in ruins and the structures have crumbled away, the walls and surrounding landscape still offer a breathtaking panorama of the serene nature that once played witness to many a war. It’s no wonder Anadolu Kavağı, just a stone’s throw from Sarıyer, is a hidden gem and a must-visit destination for those seeking a peaceful fishing village experience outside of Istanbul.

12:45 PM: Meeting at the Rumelifeneri Campus bus stop to go to Sarıyer pier
(It will take approximately 20 min to arrive by minibus)
1:30 PM: Departure of the ferry from Sarıyer to Anadolu Kavağı
1:40 PM: Arriving at Anadolu Kavağı
1:40-2:00 PM: Walking to Yoros Castle
2:00-4:15 PM: Free time, walking around the castle and drinking tea, etc. at the cafes near the castle
4:15-5:10 PM: Exploring the Anadolu Kavağı more
5:15 PM: Departure from Anadolu Kavağı pier to Sarıyer
(PS: There are also ferries at 4:00 pm or 6:10 pm from Anadolu Kavağı to Sarıyer for anyone that would like to leave earlier or later)

Participants have to pay for their expenses, including transportation, food & beverages.
