If you were studying at a university in Istanbul and transferred your degree (BA, MSc, Ph.D.) to Koç University to continue it, OR studying at KU in a program and you changed it, you must provide the following documents to the Kumkapı Migration Office, Bilgi Güncelleme Odası (Data Update Room) within 20 days from your registration to KU/ new program:
Important Note: To be able to make a new Student Residence Permit Application, you must be enrolled at KU first.
If you were studying at a university outside of Istanbul, you must complete a first-time application as instructed on our Student Residence Permit Application page within 10 days of graduating/canceling your registration at your previous university and after your enrollment at KU.
You must submit your residence permit application to the Migration Directorate at your appointment date by minding the following extra documents to the list of required documents:
If there are more than 10 days between your graduation and registration at KU, you must write an excuse letter as instructed under the “List of Required Documents” on our Student Residence Permit Application page, explaining the reason for the time gap.

If you are joining KU for a different degree (BA, MSc, Ph.D.) than your previous university in Istanbul OR changing your degree (BA, MSc, Ph.D.) within KU, you must complete a first-time application as instructed on our Student Residence Permit Application page within 10 days of graduating/canceling your registration at your previous university/degree and after your enrollment at KU.
